The Liu Fang Memorial Scholarship was established to provide scholarships to women pursuing college or university degrees in physics, engineering or mathematics in honor of the memory of Liu Fang. A foundation was created to celebrate Liu Fang’s desire to learn, her curiosity about the world, her heritage, and her love of family.
It is our hope that we can provide some assistance to other women who share Liu Fang's passion for learning while at the same time continue to help diversify the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics fields.
Liu Fang (affectionately known as Flora) was born in Beijing, People's Republic of China and was a graduate of Bei Da (Peking University) with a Bachelor’s degree for Physics, in 1988. She is remembered for her kindness and gentle nature, as well as being an independent, smart and curious woman. Flora passed away in May 2020 after a hard fought battle with cancer.
